TX & TS-XW Downgrade for PS4/5®

This only applies to older PS4/5® games prior to around Fall 2019.

Thrustmaster®’s "2021_1" update changed TX & TS-XW wheel protocol support. The old PS3® protocol that was used on PC was removed & replaced with a newer PC protocol, based on the newer PS4/5® protocol that surfaced in GT Sport. As a result, newer games since around the time of GT7, Fall 2019, are working with Force Feedback (FFB). Our Drive Hub team is able to decode the new protocol to the old protocol, but not the other way around as the new protocol is encoded in a highly complicated manner.

Examples of some older affected games: DiRT Rally 2.0/DiRT 4/Driveclub. If you really want to play these & other older games with FFB on a TX or TS-XW wheel, you will have to downgrade its firmware. TX to v56 or less. TS-XW to v6. You will find them on some driver sites. This will allow you to play all games on the Compatibility List. However, you should consider the following:

You will experience a better feel if you upgrade your TX/TS-XW wheel firmware to play newer games. The upgrade/downgrade process is simple enough, taking just a few seconds.
