This only applies to older PS4/5® games prior to around Fall 2019.
{% endhint %}

Thrustmaster®’s "**2021**\_**1**" update changed **TX** & **TS**-**XW** wheel protocol support. The old PS3® protocol was removed, replaced with a newer PC protocol, based on the newer PS4/5® protocol that surfaced in GT Sport. The end result is newer games since around Fall 2019, are working fine, with Force Feedback (FFB). It is possible to decode the new protocol to the old protocol, but not the other way around as the new protocol is encoded in a highly complicated manner.

Examples of some older affected games: DiRT Rally 2.0®, DiRT 4®, Driveclub®. If you want to play these and other older games on a TX or TS-XW wheel, you will need to downgrade its firmware. TX to v56 or less. TS-XW to v6. You may still find them on some driver sites. This will allow you to play all games on the [**Compatibility List**](/drivehub/compatibility.md#supported-games). However, you should consider the following:

***

You will experience a better feel if you upgrade your TX/TS-XW wheel firmware to play newer games. The upgrade/downgrade process is simple enough, taking just a few seconds.
