Commonly found under Settings in Shooter-style GAMEPACKs, "GENERIC Fire Activation" determines how & when a GENERIC Fire Mode is activated.
There are usually 5 options to select from... Any Fire, ADS Fire, Fire Only, Activate - Fully Hold, and Block - Fully Hold. If any of these options are deemed unsuitable for a specific game, its GAMEPACK may be fewer options, or even NO GENERIC Fire Activation setting.
Any Fire is usually the default option. The GENERIC Fire Mode will activate as soon as your FIRE button is being PRESSED. This is needed in any game that DOES NOT utilize an Aim Down Sights (ADS) button. However, it can be problematic in any game that utilizes your FIRE button for vehicle acceleration or other alternate gameplay activities.
ADS Fire is great for any game where most of your time is spent Aiming Down Sights (ADS). The GENERIC Fire Mode will activate as soon as your ADS & FIRE button are being PRESSED TOGETHER. It will deactivate the GENERIC Fire Mode while you are NOT ADS.
Fire Only will deactivate the GENERIC Fire Mode if you are Aiming Down Sights (ADS). This means that the GENERIC Fire Mode will ONLY activate when you are FIRING WHILE NOT ADS (hip firing).
The Fully Hold options, provided that you use a trigger for firing, will take advantage of your trigger’s analog nature, allowing you to determine when to use the GENERIC Fire Mode:
While your FIRE TRIGGER is FULLY HELD all the way down, Activate - Fully Hold will activate the GENERIC Fire Mode.
While your FIRE TRIGGER is FULLY HELD all the way down, Block - Fully Hold will deactivate the GENERIC Fire Mode.
After making your selection, tap the back-arrow at the top-left to return to the Dashboard.
