Weapon AI
"Detect" in addition to including the Weapon Selector, provides a Weapon AI Controller Shortcut where with a small amount of in game preparation, you can activate a quick & mostly reliable detection sequence for your in-game weapon, automatically assigning your ACTIVE Weapon Slot in the process.
Be aware that Weapon AI is entirely dependent on the GAMEPACK REQUIREMENT for Controller Vibration to remain ON, both in game & console system wide.
During detection, Weapon AI may tap your Reload button, expecting a reload attempt. While your game may feature alternate Reload button behaviors, these may remain UNSUPPORTED.
Weapon AI can be convenient, impressive, and fun to use, but it is NOT flawless. In games that can support Weapon AI, such as this one, it relies on our team adding and maintaining weapon detection signatures between game updates.
Certain weapons may be more difficult to accurately detect, and weapon attachments may change a weapon’s signature.
For this reason, you CANNOT solely rely on Weapon AI & you will sometimes need to use the Weapon Selector, or you can reach for the app.
Activating Weapon AI
Ensure that you are swapped to the ACTIVE Weapon Slot that you intend to assign an Optimized Weapon to, and that you are using the in-game weapon that you wish to detect.
Reload your weapon & ensure that you have at least 1 or more reloads remaining.
To avoid an unsuccessful or failed detection, move out of harm’s way, hide, and ensure there is absolutely nothing within range of being interacted with or picked up, and nothing that will cause your controller to rumble other than your weapon itself.
The sequence will finish as soon as Weapon AI detects your weapon. This may be immediately after it fires, or if needed, after it checks the weapon’s reload.
If all went well, you will feel a heavy rumble, and your ACTIVE Weapon Slot should visibly change on the app to your current in-game weapon.
For weapons that have overly similar signatures, a failsafe choice will pop up on the app to Confirm Weapon, and your controller will continuously rumble until you make a choice.
How often you will be presented with this choice will range from rarely to frequently, and possibly always, depending on the current state of your game and its effect on the viability of Weapon AI.
Depending on how much Weapon AI has already narrowed it down, 2 to 4 weapon choices will be available, each with a corresponding D-PAD direction.
If Weapon AI is just unable to identify your weapon, it will automatically select Regular Fire & you should feel a light rumble, but it is also possible for it to misdetect as the wrong weapon, so check the app.
