Found under Settings in Tkkn 8 GAMEPACK, "Recording Mode" covers options to record Sticks & Buttons, Buttons Only, or Sticks Only.
Sticks & Buttons will record buttons & analog stick movements. Sticks will be recorded digitally in a simplified (or downgraded) form, translating to 8-way directions at 100% tilt. Triggers will be recorded digitally at 100% pressed.
Buttons Only will record buttons, but NOT analog stick movements. Triggers will be recorded digitally at 100% pressed.
If your combo is going to require complex analog stick movements, recording analog sticks is pointless, as you will need to manually operate the sticks during playback anyway. Therefore, this option works also well with "Controller Interrupt Behavior: Pass-Through Inputs".

After making your selection, tap the back-arrow at the top-left to return to the Dashboard.
