For STRIKEPACK™ with M.O.D.|PASS™.
"Anti-Recoil" for Apex Old GAMEPACK is a M.O.D. (Macro On Demand) that when adjusted correctly for your current weapon, slightly "pulls" at your aim/camera stick to reduce the effect of recoil.
"Quick Edit" allows for "Anti-Recoil Adjustments" during play. This GAMEPACK uses an older implementation of Quick Edit. You can test-fire & fine-tune the Optimized Anti-Recoil of a Supported Weapon (Optimized Weapon) using your controller, observing your results in real-time. You can fine-tune to correct for recoil differences from Weapon Attachments, Variant Weapons, Game Updates, Unsupported Settings, etc.
For example, you will need to adjust for Legendary Weapons, Scopes higher than 1x, or if you want to use an FOV other than 70.
Anti-Recoil NOT functioning?: If play with an "Inverted Y" in-game aim/camera or "Flipped" (bumpers/shoulders for your ADS & FIRE buttons), ensure this is reflected in the M.O.D. CENTRAL™ GAMEPACK Configuration. Anti-Recoil functionality is dependent on correctly MATCHED settings. If everything is in order, you may unfortunately have to Factory Reset your STRIKEPACK™ to obtain the intended result.
First, you MUST enable both Anti-Recoil and Quick Edit. To do so, visit the M.O.D. CENTRAL™ GAMEPACK Configuration and ensure "ADS Anti-Recoil" is set to "Enabled - Quick Edit", or if play with "Inverted Y" in-game aim/camera, "Enabled Inverted - Quick Edit".
You can also set "Anti-Recoil Aim Smoothing" to "Standard" or "Alternate", which determines the transition from the pull of Anti-Recoil to your own aiming. The choice between the two is largely subjective, depending on which one feels better for you.
Once you are in-game 🎮, position yourself and aim at a wall 🧱 or static target 🎯, ensuring you have plenty of ammunition and the room to compare recoil patterns. Alternatively, you can aim at a target dummy to take any interference from "in-game" aim assist into account. Switch to the in-game weapon 🔫 you will be using, such as your Primary Weapon. Ensure the Weapon Slot/Profile you intend to adjust is ACTIVE. You will need to be familiar with Apex Old's Weapon Swap implementation at this point.
For a rough idea of how this older implementation of Quick Edit works in practice, please see either PS Dominator, XB Dominator, or XB Eliminator.
This GAMEPACK has Vertical & Horizontal Anti-Recoil Adjustments:
Begin test-firing Anti-Recoil and pay attention to the vertical direction of your aim:
When you are done with vertical adjustment, you can tackle horizontal adjustment with trial & error:
You can quickly reset your adjustments for the ACTIVE Weapon Slot/Profile to default:
Hold until you feel two heavy rumbles.
Focus on achieving acceptable results that maintain a mostly steady and level aim, as your weapon may have some randomized or side-to-side recoil, and that CANNOT be corrected:
Your results may also differ when firing at an actual enemy (or other assisted target) due to "in-game" aim assist, which can cause your aim to slightly drift up and even to the side. You can try to account for this in your adjustments, while test-firing against a target dummy.
At this point, you are hopefully done with fine-tuning the ACTIVE Weapon Slot's Anti-Recoil to your current in-game weapon. Feel free to repeat the process for another Weapon Slot/Profile and in-game weapon.
To enter Quick Edit, while HOLDING your AIM DOWN SIGHTS (ADS) & FIRE buttons together, TAP /DOWN D-PAD. You can immediately stop firing to conserve ammunition but you MUST REMAIN ADS to stay in Quick Edit.
You can adjust the Anti-Recoil Strength with the D-PAD by TAPPING the corresponding D-Pad direction. Your adjustments will be felt as heavy rumbles unless the adjustment ceiling or floor is reached. Your adjustments will change the slider values in the GAMEPACK Config for you to note down later.
If your aim is drifting down, Vertical Adjust is likely too strong. Use /UP D-PAD to decrease it towards a negative value .
If your aim is drifting up, Vertical Adjust is likely too weak. Use /DOWN D-PAD to increase it towards a positive value .
Use RIGHT D-PAD/ to increase Horizonal Adjust towards a positive value , then see if the horizontal drifting gets worse. If it does, use /LEFT D-PAD to decrease it towards a negative value . Try to find the middle ground where horizontal drift is minimal.
XB: While HOLDING VIEW, HOLD RIGHT STICK.
PS: While HOLDING TOUCH, HOLD RIGHT STICK.
